Supporters from near and far joined Trustees on Sunday 19th July at St. Francis' College, Letchworth to enjoy a slice of cake, a cup of  tea or coffee and a celebratory drink.

People came from parishes and schools. Some had supported Kanyike for many years, others came to find out more. Conversations were lively and the cake (courtesy of Maurice Hennessey) was splendid.

Fr Kakuba gave a virtual Mwebale in a video recording and we joined together for a short service of Thanksgiving for 40 years of the Kanyike Project. Mary Fenton gave thanks for 40 years of progress and Georgina Quayle and Tads Ciecierski-Holmes looked to the future.

Prayer of Thanksgiving and Blessing by Alice and Aniyah Rochester-Tounkara,

Heavenly Father,

Today we come before You with grateful hearts, giving You thanks for the past 40 years of the Kanyike Project and for the many lives that have been touched through its work. Thank You for Your faithfulness, guidance, and abundant provision. We praise You for the friendships that have been built, the hope that has been shared, and the lasting difference made in the villages of Uganda.

We give special thanks for Father Kakuba and the devoted service he has offered over the past 50 years. Bless him richly for his faithful leadership, compassion, and unwavering commitment to serving others. Grant him continued good health, joy, strength, and peace, and let him see the fruits of the seeds he has planted in the lives of so many.

We also thank You for Victoria and for the people of Kainsude. Bless their dedication, generosity, and determination as they continue to work together to strengthen and support their community. Fill them with wisdom, courage, and unity as they face new opportunities and challenges.

Lord, as we look to the future, we pray for Your blessing on the next chapter of the Kanyike Project. May the vision of greater sustainability become a reality. We ask for Your guidance and success for the upcoming chicken farm, beekeeping, and soap-making projects. May these initiatives provide lasting livelihoods, create opportunities for families, and bring prosperity, dignity, and hope to the community for generations to come.

Continue to unite all those who support this work, both in Uganda and in England. May our partnership always be rooted in love, respect, and a shared desire to serve one another.

We entrust the future into Your hands, confident that with Your blessing all things are possible. May everything we do bring glory to You and blessings to those we serve.

We ask all this in Your holy name.
